Jamaican Canadian Association Mourns Passing of Nelson Mandela Toronto ON. December 6, 2013 – It is with sadness that the Jamaican Canadian Association acknowledges the passing of President Nelson Mandela. The Board of Directors, members and staff of the Jamaican Canadian Association send condolences to the Mandela family and the people of South Africa.
President Audrey Campbell expresses the sentiment of the JCA family “President Mandela has left a lasting and indelible mark on the world. His life serves as a true lesson in leadership, commitment and sacrifice and while we mourn his passing, we also say thank you. May Mr. Mandela rest in peace.” The JCA is a non-profit charitable organization that has provided important cultural and social services to the community for 51 years. The JCA offers a wide range of culturally sensitive services, which support the diverse needs of the Jamaican, Caribbean and African-Canadian families, especially youth.
