The Saturday Morning Tutorial Program (SMTP) is a weekly homework assistance program supporting students from grades 1 – 12.
The program primarily focuses on English Language and Mathematics skills with additional support in preparing for EQAO testing, the Arts, Social Studies and Science. We also supplement the program with special workshops and educational field trips complemented by the exposure to various cultural activities.
Special events in the past have included Parents’ Information Sessions, Financial Workshops, “Who Is Miss Lou?” and trips to York University.
In addition, we also have technology resources available such as desktop computers with internet access and WiFi access for high school students with laptops computers.
For Tutors/Teachers (SMTP) Volunteers
The Saturday Morning Tutorial Program (SMTP) is a weekly homework assistance program supporting students from grades 1 – 12. We are seeking committed tutors/teachers who are passionate about teaching and student improvement. The focus areas are Mathematics,French, EQAO testing, English Language, Arts, Social Studies and Sciences. Tutors must be able to provide subject guidance, weekly progress report and respect for individual student’s development. This is a great opportunity for students, people who are interested in a career in teaching, newcomers, retired people and anyone who has the knowledge and communication skills to help young people improve their skills.
